Baraboo Relays

Friday night the Madison Memorial Track & Field team headed to Baraboo, WI to compete in the 50th Anniversary Baraboo Relays. This meet is set up to show a team's depth in addition to their top level talent. Athletes compete together in relay events to score points for their teams ranging from medley relays to field events that together total heights/lengths for one total. It is a fun, different way to compete and the Spartan athletes had fun again this year (eating at the Pizza Ranch never hurts :). The girls team accumulated 112 points to earn 1st place while the boys team scored 83 points to finish in 4th place. It was a great all around effort by the girls team to take home the title!

Event winners included the girls 4x800m relay team of Carly H, Sydney P, Caroline B, & Delaney E in 10:15.2, the girls Distance Medley Relay (4,8,12,16) of Kyra H, Carly H, Siena C, & Delaney E in 13:26.1, the girls 4x100m relay of Margot W, Sierra H, Emma Cate M, & Brittany B in 51.3, Izzy O in the 3200m run (11:56.0) for the girls and on the boys side Jake A in the 100m dash (11.1) and the boys 4x100m relay of Jake A, Kaydee S, Hunter P, & Jason W in 44.3.

Athletes need to communicate with their coaches...it is a busy time of year and all athletes will complete their season at different meets (some as early as this Wed with JV City) so it is important to know when you are competing, when you are practicing, and when you are done....be ready to BRING IT!
